As North Shore Towers has its own power plant, it does not rely on Con Edison or PSE&G. The six on-site generators supply all of the electricity needs and operated without interruption in recent major storms, including Super Storm Sandy.
A unique feature of living in North Shore Towers is the frequent MTA express bus service, running 7 days per week. These QM6 and QM36 coach buses stop in the front of each building and go to multiple Queens and midtown Manhattan locations.
